Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre wins Afristay 2018 Best Value Establishment Award
The Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre (HESC) has been honoured with a 2018 Best Value Establishment Award from Afristay, one of South Africa’s largest accommodation portals with over 10 000 listings across Africa and over 100 000 visitors per month.
The award rates HESC as a top value accommodation destination in Hoedspruit based on consistent and excellent rates offered to Afristay guests.
Accommodation at HESC includes the two eco-friendly self-catering cottages Khula’s Cottage and Sebeka House that sleep six persons each. Located within the perimeter of HESC, the two houses offer an unspoilt view of the African bush and passing game, yet are safely fenced off. Fully equipped kitchens are available, but meals may also be enjoyed or ordered from the on-site deli at HESC.
Various guided tours of HESC are available to view the animals at this unique wildlife sanctuary that focuses on conservation and sustainability of vulnerable and endangered species. The vulture restaurant and 360 degree cheetah spot where cheetahs may be photographed at close range are always firm favourites. Game drives may also be enjoyed on the Kapama Private Game Reserve.
More basic accommodation is available in Nungu Camp with its thatched huts with twin beds and shared ablution facilities. Cooking facilities are also shared. No electricity is available in Nungu Camp.
HESC accommodation offers a true African getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. You’ll not be disappointed when you visit us.
