On Sunday the 11th of November 2012, the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre released a male caracal onto Camp Jabulani‘s property on the Greater Kapama Game Reserve. The young male had been brought to the Centre on the 17th of May 2012 after it had been caught in a trap cage on a farm. The caracal was placed into quarantine at the Centre to allow him to mature as well as ensure that he was free from any diseases before being released.
