Position at HESC:
We asked Gretha:
How long have you been at HESC?
What do you love most about HESC?
Learning so much whilst being in God’s Paradise! That moment that you realise where you actually are. To be able to work for an icon in the industry, Mrs. Lente Roode, is an absolute privilege. I admire her for her passion, ambition and absolute love for her animals. She is such an inspiration to any young woman who is passionate and believes in never giving up and fighting for what you believe in!
Not sure, living in the moment and making the most of it! Life has the tendency to take you on roads that you can never predict. From a girl out of the North West Province who used to admire the wild lions and big elephants on TV, to a manageress of a centre for endangered species, has been one exciting and unpredictable journey.
What do you love most about your job?
The fact that I am so privileged to be able to see a wild animal everyday or even just to hear them is the best part of my job. Millions of people visit our continent on a yearly basis to spend a day or two to be able to see and enjoy what I get to see and experience every day of my life. That feeling when you show someone their first cheetah is indescribable.
