The Secret Masquerade
In an effort to raise funds and awareness for HESC and its many resident animals, the Secret Masquerade will take place in select cities across South Africa throughout 2016. The first event took place at Katy’s Palace Bar in Kramerville, Johannesburg. The event offered an evening of fire dancers, acrobats, stilt walkers and very special guest appearances by some of the country’s top musical artists. The ball started with a ‘murder mystery’ dinner party followed by a silent and live auction.
This single event raised an incredible R40 000. We would like to thank everyone for attending the event. A special thanks to Exclusively Africa and to all prize sponsors:

Amanzi and Elephants Alive
Special thanks to Elephants Alive and everyone who donated towards the costs of Amanzi’s rescue, transportation and care. We would also like to give thanks to the many generous sponsors who kindly helped raise funds for the supply of Amanzi’s milk formula.
With the sad passing of Amanzi, Elephants Alive donated the remaining funds (R21 000) to HESC. These funds helped pay the veterinary fees for Amanzi’s care.
Rhino SA and Hurleyvale Primary School
Thank you to Rhino SA and all the pupils and parents at Hurleyvale Primary School for donating sports equipment to the rural youth in Hoedspruit. The equipment will be given to the pupils participating in HESC’s community enrichment programmes.
Highline Tours & Travel – HAY FOR HORNS CAMPAIGN
A big thank you to Highline Tours and Travel for their long term commitment and donations towards the care of the Rescued Rhinos @ HESC. Highline Tours and Travel have generously committed to donating 30 bales of hay a month to the centre.
They have also extended the Hay for Horns Campaign to their agents, where they donate a bale of hay in their name on their company birthday to the Rescued Rhinos @ HESC.
Jump for Rhinos – Adventure Skydives
Thank you to everyone who jumped for our Rhinos this month – R1500 was donated towards the Rescued Rhinos @ HESC. We are very grateful for the opportunity provided by Adventure Skydives and look forward to seeing a lot more jumps in 2016!
