HESC Thank you – May 2017

We are extremely thankful for the HESC communities’ generosity and it is not only a pleasure, but also a privilege to thank everyone for their support last month. Thank you!

Ian Mostert and Nedbank donated paint towards Lumukisa Primary School. The paint will be used for the Grade R and 1 classrooms and playground area.

Panarottis I’langa Mall, Nelspruit donated R5 towards the Rescued Rhinos @ HESC from every Rhino Combo Meal ordered at their restaurant. A total of ZAR1,120 was raised from 224 meals sold between January – April 2017. Adele and Petrus, owners of Panarottis, donated a further ZAR880 towards this initiative.

Globeflight came on board to help save South Africa’s endangered rhino species. The courier company donated 5,400 rhino puzzles. These will come in handy in our Rhino Art and community outreach projects.

Cathryn Devenish and Hike4Rhinos. Joanne Devenish recently set off on her epic Hike4Rhinos through the Pacific Crest Trail. The route spans 2,650 miles (4,265km) from Mexico to Canada through California, Oregon and Washington. All monies pledged and donated will go to Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre (HESC) and the Southern African Wildlife College (SAWC) to assist with our valuable work.

Joanne’s sister, Cathryn Devenish, donated various Hike4Rhinos promotional items to HESC, which can be purchased from our curio shop. All the proceeds will be donated towards the Hike4Rhinos initiative.

We also received a donation of eight blankets for some of the animals at HESC from Vanessa Hopper and friends.
