A heartfelt thank you to everyone that has contributed towards the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre during the month of September – we are very grateful for the support.
HURLYVALE PRIMARY SCHOOL
With an effort to create awareness and funds for the plight of the rhino, Hurlyvale Primary School participated in a Rhino Fun Day on the 21stof September. An amazing R6 800.00 was raised and donated to the Rescued Rhinos @ HESC.
Much needed wish list items were also collected and donated to the HESC.
Special thanks to Graeme Mitchley and Kelly Douglas for their continuous effort to assist the animals at the HESC.
We are thrilled at their generosity and very grateful to all the children, staff and parents for supporting this worthy cause. Thank you!
RIVONIA PRIMARY SCHOOL
In celebration of World Rhino Day (22 September 2018), Rivonia Primary sold beautiful rhino badges and key rings to raise funds and awareness of the plight of our rhino. An amazing R4 000.00 was raised and donated to the Rescued Rhinos @ HESC.
Special thanks to Candice Martin for running the initiative and to two very special Eco Warriors – Cassidy Theron and Tahya Salgado, we are very proud of you!
LAERSKOOL GARSFONTEIN
A group of children from Laerskool Grasfontein visited the HESC and generously donated much needed wish list items. Some of the items included food for the animals and cleaning products.

PACK FOR A PURPOSE
The HESC recently received more items through the amazing Pack for A Purpose project. Some of the items included stationary, art materials and medical supplies.
Special thanks to Bob & Cherril Thickitt for donating stationary to Lumukisa Preparatory via the Pack for A Purpose initiative.
These donated items have an enormous impact on the centre’s ability to contribute towards the needs of surrounding communities, which are part of our very own community involvement initiatives.
