Five reasons why the cheetah is an amazing animal:
- it is the fastest land mammal.
- it is the only big cat that can purr.
- the rare King Cheetah is an especially striking feline.
- cheetahs have the most interesting mating and birthing characteristics among the big cats.
- Their dog-like features, even though they are cats, make them unique.
- You can adopt your own cheetah at HESC?
- You have the choice of a full adoption or a junior adoption?
Those who choose a junior adoption adopt the one cheetah – in this case, Sheila. Adopting Sheila will cost R2,500 per annum, and you will receive an adoption certificate, a gift, updates on her well being throughout the year, a subscription to our Cheetah Chat, and a board featuring your name as adopter is placed at HESC’s entrance.
If you select a senior adoption, you get to choose from the cheetahs available for adoption, and name the lucky cheetah! The cost of a senior adoption is R25,000 a year, and you receive an adoption certificate, a gift, updates throughout the year, a subscription to our Cheetah Chat. and a board featuring your name as adopter is placed at HESC’s entrance as well as on the specific cheetah’s camp. This adoption option appeals to companies and schools, for whom the adopted cheetah becomes their mascot, whether to spread the message of conservation, to educate, or simply to brag!
Wildlife conservation is essential to our planet, and the protection of our cheetahs is especially highlighted on International Cheetah Day. Visit our website and go to the Fundraising section for details on how you can go about the adoption process.
