Gretha joined HESC 6 years ago as the curio shop manager. She learned all about guests’ preferences and tastes when it came to this retail outlet. She did an amazing job and was soon appointed General Manager of HESC. Not an easy job, but Gretha was always prepared to rise to the challenge when it came to pushing the boundaries.

She was the ideal employee, and we have been fortunate to have Gretha as part of our team. She was always willing to learn, to assist and to go the extra mile.

As Centre Manager, Gretha took care of visitors, staff and – most of all – the resident animals. She was a ‘Fundi’ on squirrels, and devoted her time off to rehabilitating and setting them free. Gretha has created memories that will be treasured by all. Apart from all of us missing her, Gertjie – who loves her passionately – will miss her dearly as she often took him for walks and treated him to mud baths.

Gretha, your presence at the HESC will be missed by all, and we know you are leaving a part of you behind with us. We wish you good luck in all your future endeavours. Stay the all-star employee that you have always been – you will be a huge credit to any organisation that has the good fortune of employing you.
